Malahat Nation has established its own Custom Election Policy. This was a break from the standard Indian Affairs electoral system and recognized as a positive step to better govern the Nation’s political matters and to oversee the administrative affairs in an open and transparent manner. The last election date was Monday, June 10, 2019. View a copy of our custom election code here. Our Chief & Council Policy is available by request at Malahat Administration Office.

The Malahat Nation Chief and Council are committed to supporting an engaged community by ensuring there is a range of opportunities for Malahat Nation members to be knowledgeable about local government and provide feedback on issues affecting their community. The annual Strategic Plan and Annual Report provide strategic direction for the nation, while setting industry standards for accountability, transparency and independent decision making.
