Community Safety Plan - What We Heard Report
Malahat Nation Lands and Environment department has continued working with Firelight Consulting to build a Community Safety Plan (CSP). Update: Provincial Private Moorage Moratorium
A Provincial private moorage moratorium has been in place since 2021 within the waterways south of Gabriola, down past the Gulf Islands and onto the west side of the W̱SÁNEĆ peninsula. This moratorium restricts private landowners from installing new moorages, including docks, boat ramps, and boat lifts. The moratorium expired in August. This moratorium is not well enforced by the Province, leading to multiple illegal moorages within the moratorium area. Private moorages have direc
