We are excited to share that Telus Fibre is now being rolled out across the community. After many months of planning and infrastructure upgrades, Malahat's organization and community homes can now sign up for high-speed internet services. Malahat Nation Opposes Bill 15
On May 13th, 2025, Premier David Eby introduced Bill 15 - the Infrastructure Projects Act. This Bill would grant the Cabinet extraordinary powers to expedite major infrastructure projects in BC. The Minister of Infrastructure, Bowinn Ma, says the Bill is to speed up building critical infrastructure such as schools and hospitals. Goldstream River has always been an important place for our people. It’s a space where the salmon return, where our ancestors harvested food, and where we continue to practice our responsibility as caretakers of the land and water. Our team has been working to protect the river, ensuring that construction on the Malahat Highway does not harm the salmon or their habitat.
